Based in Maple Ridge, Kaylesha combines over a decade of strategic expertise and creative flair as the owner of Markayting Creative.
Kaylesha “Kay” Penner is the powerhouse behind Markayting Creative, a boutique marketing agency that blends bold strategy with clear, effective execution. With a knack for storytelling and a brain that naturally maps out strategy, Kay has helped businesses of all sizes build marketing that actually works.
From Corporate Boardrooms to Creative Boardwalks
Before launching Markayting in 2020, Kay spent more than a decade in the corporate marketing world leading campaigns and shaping brand identities. She held key roles at Meridian Meats & Seafood and Meridian Farm Market, then later served as Marketing Director at Bentall Kennedy and QuadReal Property Group. Those years built the foundation she uses today: deep brand knowledge, a practical approach, and the ability to turn insights into results.

Today, Markayting Creative delivers branding, website design, content creation, digital marketing, and strategy built around what real businesses need. Thoughtful, intentional marketing that drives action. Markayting School: Practical Marketing Education for Real Businesses
Alongside client work, Kay founded Markayting School, a growing suite of in-person workshops and online courses that help entrepreneurs take control of their marketing. The focus is practical, accessible training rooted in real-world experience, giving business owners the confidence and skills to manage their marketing in-house.
Community, Leadership, and Recognition
Kay is a proud Maple Ridge resident and mom of two, a volunteer youth soccer coach with Ridge Meadows Soccer Club, and an enthusiastic hockey mom. She currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce, where she brings her marketing experience and community focus to local business advocacy.
In 2025, she was honoured with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, recognizing her impact, leadership, and dedication to supporting local business growth.

Marissa Stack is the vibrant Marketing Assistant at Markayting Creative, where her passion for marketing and social media truly shines
Her journey into the marketing world began after graduating from the Fashion Business and Creative Arts program at JCI Institute. It was there that she discovered her love for marketing, paving the way for her career in the industry.
Joining the dynamic team at Markayting has been a remarkable experience for Marissa. She thrives on collaborating with a diverse range of clients and finds working alongside our wide range of clients incredibly inspiring. Marissa plays a key role in bringing clients' stories to life, whether it's through engaging website creation, managing social media, or capturing captivating moments in fun reel sessions. Every day at Markayting is a new and exciting adventure for her.
Beyond her marketing role, Marissa's passion for fashion led her to co-found Prévost a streetwear fashion brand. Alongside her business partners, she recognized a gap in the market for women who admire men's streetwear style. Prévost aims to bridge this gap by reimagining men's fashion for the women's silhouette, creating a unique blend of His streetwear tailored for Her. Check out the latest from Prévost.

Graduating from both Blanche Macdonald Centre and Kwantlen Polytechnic University with a diploma in Fashion Marketing, Dawson has cultivated a deep passion for the industry. With about 10 years of experience in retail, personal styling, and social media marketing, Dawson brings a well-rounded skill set and a unique perspective to the team.
Her love for fashion has been the driving force behind her career path, and it was through this passion that Dawson realized how closely the fashion and marketing industries are intertwined. This realization ignited her love for marketing, where she found her true calling. This blend of creative and practical experience fuels her work in the marketing world.
Joining the Markayting team has been the perfect opportunity to combine her creativity with her marketing expertise. She thrives in environments where she can work on shoots and reels, using these creative outlets to spark new ideas while focusing on developing strategic marketing solutions. graphic designer
Amy is a Graphic Designer at Markayting Creative, bringing over a decade of experience in design and creative direction to the team.
Her journey into design began long before it was a career, starting with KidPix on an iMac G3 and growing into a lifelong passion for creating visuals that connect. Amy is a graduate of the University of the Fraser Valley, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, solidifying both her technical skills and creative foundation.
Before joining Markayting, Amy built much of her career working with non-profits, arts organizations, and community-focused initiatives. It was there she discovered the power of design as a tool for impact—using strong visuals and clear messaging to inspire action, build trust, and tell meaningful stories.
At Markayting, Amy loves collaborating with a wide range of clients and translating ideas into polished, on-brand designs. From digital assets and print materials to website visuals and campaign support, she plays a key role in bringing creative concepts to life while keeping strategy front and centre.
Outside of Markayting, Amy continues to work closely with community organizations and arts initiatives. No matter the project, her approach remains the same: thoughtful design, purposeful storytelling, and a commitment to doing work that matters.
